Speaches I Wrote

The Church

Adults may say we’re “foolish.” Well we’re not perfect and we all mess up, but God still chose us. 1 Corinthians 1:27 “God chose the foolish things of this world to shame the wise.” Weather we’re foolish or not we still are God’s children and nothing less.
This is a church. People come here to hear the God’s word spoke, to be encouraged. But this is nothing more than a building. We are the church! 1 Corinthians 6:19 “don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?” which just means that God lives in us, and we have his authority. A great example of someone who was the church is Paul. In Acts 22 Paul talks about his story. If you believed in Jesus he would ether put you in jail or kill you. But in Acts 19:11 it says that “God is extraordinary miracles through Paul.” I think that being a murder is a little more serious than being foolish. But God still used him to do extraordinary things, like writing about 2/3rds of the new testament. Just goes to show you that God chose all of us to do something weather it be big or little it all matters.
John 1:23 “I am the voice calling into the desert.” Mathew 5:14 “you are the light of the world, the city on a hill that can not be hidden.” We’re meant to be that voice, that light. He chose the people who have been through a few things, who have messed up, the foolish people. I think that it is when we are knocked off our feet we turn to him for love and mercy. The best thing about God’s love is that it’s so priceless and completely Free! And that’s what being the church is all about, sharing God’s love. Weather it be giving a complement or sharing your testimony. Acts 18:9 “Do not be afraid; keep speaking; Do not be silent; for I am with you. So don’t be kept quiet!
